Busting with pride and anxiety at the same time. @sam.wallbridge had her Camosun Grad ceremony today. Super proud of her for rolling with the Covid Pivot and shifting gears and applying herself during all that shite. She’s made some lifelong friends and discovered her inner ‘art freak’. I couldn’t be happier for her.

Of course, this means next steps are leaving the nest and she’s doing that with style and flying to Europe for a few months on her own, leaving on Friday. I trust her smarts, kindness, values and intuition to make all the best choices and have a great time … but I’m struggling as papa bear knowing she’ll be a long way away and I can’t just swoop in as easily as I can when she’s nearby (you know, like when she backs our car, repeatedly into things…).
